Where you’ll stay
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
You can book our BASI level 3 or ISIA training programs as a training, only package or with accommodation included.
In each resort, we have a number of accommodation options depending on your budget. You can choose from chalets in the town centre that are within walking distance of the bars, restaurants and main lift stations. Or you can stay further down the mountain. This is where most of our team lives and is a little more affordable but still linked to the main lift system.
FAQ’s
We’ve got the answers
Do our courses include the ISIA exams?
No, every ski instructor is different and will be ready to sit their exams at slightly different times. We build our training program around published exam dates so that those who are ready can book the exams they need and want to sit. This helps you stay on top of your training costs.
We do recommend that you sit as many exams as possible before or after the season. Your language test and second discipline can often be done in your home nation using a dry ski or artificial slope. Allowing you to focus on quality training for your main discipline during the winter.
Do our courses include second discipline training?
No, your training hours will focus on your primary discipline. If you need to do a second discipline to achieve your ISIA qualification, we suggest adaptive skiing, unlike all other disciplines. You’re not expected to have a high level of knowledge prior to sitting the exam.
If you book onto a work and train program, are you guaranteed a job?
No, employment as part of the ski school is subject to interview, working rights, and qualification recognition. You can reserve a space on any course online. However, this only guarantees you a space on the training programme. If the ability to work is an essential part of you joining us for training, please get in touch with us first to ensure you go through the correct procedures.
Non-EU passport holders can work in Europe and Switzerland but the rules vary by country.
Ski instructors who speak more than one language and have existing teaching experience are more likely to be offered a role. We aim to provide trainees working as part of the ski school with around 200 teaching hours. This isn’t a guaranteed minimum.

Our Courchevel and Verbier ISIA programs include race training and time on the stade. Please see the full course details for an exact breakdown of what to expect.

Do we always use BASI trainers?
No, your ski instructor training will be delivered by a combination of ski industry experts. Our team consists of BASI trainers, Italian, Austrian and Danish Examiners, race coaches and national team athletes, among others.
Specialists will deliver your performance threads to ensure you receive expert tuition and top-quality training for the thread you’re working on.
The coaches for each training programme can be found on the Course details page.
Do our courses cover mountain safety training?
Our BASI level 3 ISIA training programmes in Verbier and Courchevel include a small introduction to mountain safety ahead of the mountain safety exam for those who wish to book it. Do you need to speak a second language?
Ski instructors who speak more than one language are a really valuable asset to any ski school. For safety reasons, we insist that all ski instructors can speak enough of the local language to call for rescue and explain the incident. This is similar to the requirements for the second language test.
We offer German and French lessons as an additional extra on all courses. This helps you prepare for your ISIA modules and complete your overall qualification.
Is all the training personal performance focused?
As part of all courses, we look at the art of ski instruction. Your ski instructor training will cover appropriate teaching strategies and the central theme. However, you will not be running mock teaching sessions.
