Get to know Rich
Rich will be coaching and mentoring our Level 1 and 2 training programme in Verbier. He will be running on-snow training as well as some video analysis and teaching theory sessions together with ski servicing workshops.
When Rich isn’t helping us out, he’s busy managing the Ski Zenit ski school in Grimentz/Zinal.
Motivation
Every ski day brings something new with fun challenges along the way! Whether it’s the changeable, fun snow conditions or teaching different clients of varying levels, having that varied skiing experience gives me the buzz and makes me want to get out there on the mountain every single day!
It’s always been one of my ski career aspirations to train new instructors, to pass on the passion and experience to the new guys and girls in the industry. It’s so different from teaching tourist clients which is great to vary the work throughout the winter and so rewarding to see how much students develop throughout their winter training programme – you really get the best opportunity to help develop their technical skills and mentor them to build up their confidence of interpersonal and communication skills.
What do you do after winter?
Rich work’s in Saas Fee coaching on the glacier year round and is an office administrator for Ski Zenit for their race programmes.
