What you’ll cover
Course Outline
Week 1
Personal Performance Training
The first week will focus on finding your ski legs again, and an introduction to all mountain terrain. You’ll start building a solid technical base and gradually increase the tempo and practise skiing with more fluidity and style. You’ll learn about your avalanche safety equipment and how to navigate off-piste terrain safely.
Week 2
3 Valleys: Technical Exploration
During the second week, you’ll begin to explore the vast 3 Valleys area. You’ll ride the famous zip line in Val Thorens, which is over a kilometre long and offers stunning views of the ski resort from above.
Alongside this, you’ll carry on developing your technical skiing on and off-piste.
Week 3
Park Skiing and Piste performance
These weeks are all about high-paced, high-energy skiing on the piste. You’ll focus on speed, line and pressure to stay in control when speeds pick up, and put these elements into practice with race training on the World-Cup slope in Courchevel.
You’ll also play in the park, developing tricks. This is a prime opportunity to try a backflip or 360, or just perfect your “pop”. Our instructors can help you build confidence and break down the movements to help you land perfectly.
Week 4
Backcountry Adventure
This week focuses on preparing you for your mountain refuge adventure. You’ll spend time ski touring, working on map reading and navigation and refining your avalanche awareness.
You’ll then venture out into the back country for an overnight trip to a mountain refuge. Ensure your phones are charged, as you’ll want to take plenty of photos!
FAQ’s
We’ve got the answers
How skilled do you need to be to join the Performance and Adventure Course?
If you’re confidently linking parallel turns on steep reds, you’re all set. Before joining this course, we advise that you’re comfortable and at ease on all marked pistes.
You don’t need to have experience skiing off-piste as this will be covered within the course.
Which is the best Airport to fly to?
We recommend that you fly into Geneva Airport.
How do you get from Geneva Airport to Meribel?
You will need to organise your own transport from Geneva to Meribel.
There are a number of transfer companies who offer private or shared transfers from the airport. There are also train and bus services that run to Moutiers, which is about 20 minutes from Meribel. From there you could pre-book a taxi to drop you at your accommodation.
Does the course include a ski pass?
Yes, your lift pass is included in the cost of your course.
Do you need Avalanche Safety equipment to ski off-piste?
Yes. Our team will take you off-piste during your training and you’ll have to carry at least a transceiver, shovel and probe.
These aren’t included in the course cost but can be added as an optional extra.
