FAQ’s
How good do you need to be to join an off-piste ski course?
Our off-piste ski courses are level specific. Some courses are designed for novice off-piste skiers, while others are for experienced back-country skiers. You can find full details on each course page or search using the filter system. Please make sure you book into the correct level.
What if there are bad snow conditions?
As much as we would love to, we can’t control the weather. Your guide or instructor will help you find the best snow in the resort during your trip. It’s important to remember that being in the backcountry is an adventure.
Will you cover Avalanche Safety Training?
All of our off-piste ski courses cover the basics of off-piste and avalanche safety. We’ll always ensure you’re familiar with your safety equipment and the basics of avalanche rescue.
Will you need touring equipment?
If you need ski touring or split boarding equipment, it will be explicitly stated in the course details.
Do you do any piste skiing on the off-piste programmes?
Yes, we often introduce skills and ideas on the piste to develop technique and confidence before exploring the ideas off-piste. For many skiers, we see the biggest improvements in their off-piste skiing when we nail the basics on piste.
You’ll even spend time in race gates on some of our high-performance programmes.
What Qualifications do our coaches have?
Our coaches are all fully qualified instructors. We use a mixture of BASI trainers and specialist coaches.
